has added a series of in-game graffiti and memorials to Counter-Strike 2 that honor specific historic esports moments. These cosmetic updates allow players to see visual tributes to legendary plays from the game’s competitive past. The changes matter because they embed the community’s history directly into the game’s maps and environments.

New graffiti tributes honor legendary plays on Overpass and Mirage

The new content appears across several popular maps, including Overpass and Mirage. Each graffiti piece references a specific match or player achievement from the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive era. This approach connects the current game state with the legacy of its predecessor through visual storytelling.

On Overpass, the B bomsite features the ‘Burning Defender’ graffiti. This design commemorates Nicolai ‘device’ Reedtz and Henrik ‘FeTiSh’ Christensen’s molotov defuse at ESL One Cologne 2014. Another detail on Overpass is a sign behind the truck at CT-spawn that reads ‘Geländer übersteigen verboten’. This German phrase translates to ‘climbing over the railing is prohibited’ and references the ‘Olofboost’ incident at DreamHack Winter 2014.

Mirage also receives new commemorative items. Behind the van at the B bomsite, players will find a winged AWP graffiti with four skulls. This marks Marcelo ‘coldzera’ David’s jumping no-scope 4k at MLG Columbus 2016. The market position on Mirage now includes four jars of ‘magic’ sauce with a ‘4x’ symbol. This item honors Boris ‘magixx’ Vorobyev’s 1v4 spraydown against G2 at the IEM Cologne 2026 Major.

We touched on Valve Defends CS2 Loot Boxes as in our earlier Valve coverage. These new graffiti pieces stand in contrast to the company’s recent legal defenses regarding loot box mechanics. The updates provide a tangible way for fans to engage with the game’s rich history without relying on monetization models.
