has permanently banned a professional player of Counter-Strike 2 for serious integrity breaches. This news serves as a strong reminder that the developer is taking a hard line in enforcing its code of conduct, even when players are suspended. For competitive players and esports fans, it's important to understand that there are very serious consequences for breaking the rules while already suspended.

Valve escalates punishment for match-fixing pro to lifetime ban and police report

The person who got the ban is a pro player of the Counter-Strike 2 space. Valve found out that this player had been involved in match fixing which resulted in a first ban. The developer then upgraded the punishment to a permanent ban after noticing more rule-breaking.

The player, while under the initial suspension, was posting on social media showing off large amounts of cash. This was a violation of the suspension terms showing a clear disregard for the rules. To make matters worse, they also made a post called 'How to speedrun a ban 101' featuring skull emojis. Valve included this in the evidence of their attitude.

Valve reported this player to the police over the seriousness of the match fixing accusations. So now it's not just a simple ban for gaming, but it's potentially a legal issue. This serves as a reminder that there's an increased emphasis on competitive integrity in big esports games.
