If you want native PC Game Pass on Steam Deck, there's a new experimental way to get it. The Xodus Nexus launcher is a way to get Microsoft's PC Game Pass store working on your Valve handheld. With this new launcher, Steam Deck users can log in using Microsoft accounts to install and play compatible games on their device. It fills a gap in the software of Valve's handheld.
Experimental Linux tool adds Microsoft Store access to handheld gaming
The Xodus Nexus launcher is based on the Xodus open source project aimed at getting Xbox games working on Linux. You can pin the launcher as a shortcut in Steam and use it in the Steam Deck Gaming Mode along with native games. This gets around the need for a full Windows install on the Steam Deck.
Right now, the launcher is experimental with controller support. You might need a mouse or touchscreen to get through the initial login boxes. The compatibility list provided by the developer is for Linux in general, not a certified list of Steam Deck optimized games.
Not every PC Game Pass game is compatible using this solution. Some games have known issues or don't run at all. The developer has not tested this on a real Steam Deck. They say they don't have one and have to use general Linux compatibility information.
For users who want to get console-style access to Microsoft's Game Pass, this is a working solution. This gives you a way to play compatible games without needing to dual boot. You'll have to work out any compatibility issues for the games on your own. But if you're willing to deal with it as experimental, you've got a solution.
