ADATA turned your smartphone into a key for its new external SSD. The Urban TapSafe, unveiled at Computex 2026, uses NFC-based security to lock and unlock the drive. This eliminates the need for a password or separate encryption software to secure data.

The Urban TapSafe is a portable SSD that connects via USB 3.2 Gen2 x2, offering up to 20 Gbps bandwidth. It comes in 1TB and 2TB capacities. The drive weighs just 72.61 grams, making it easy to carry.
