Embark Studios is changing how Arc Raiders players earn rewards after a wipe to reduce the grind for essential gear. The studio replaces skill points with blueprints and Raider Tokens starting from the fourth expedition. This shift matters because it gives players direct access to crafting materials and currency needed for the shop. Players who lost progress during a wipe will now see a clearer path to rebuilding their loadouts.

The update, known as Frozen Trails, introduces these changes to the game's core progression loop. The new reward structure applies to expeditions where players deal damage to enemies topside. Embark Studios designed this system to tie rewards directly to active gameplay performance. Users who complete these missions will receive items based on their total damage output.

Rewards are divided into five tiers based on the amount of damage dealt during an expedition. The first tier unlocks after dealing 5,000 damage, with the final tier requiring 100,000 damage. Each tier grants a random high-end blueprint along with 150 Raider Tokens. These tokens function as currency for purchasing cosmetic items in the in-game shop.

The expedition window for these changes opens globally on July 7, 2024. Players can begin earning the new blueprints and tokens immediately after the update launches. The system scales from low damage thresholds to high damage requirements across the five tiers. This structure ensures that both casual and dedicated players can earn rewards based on their activity level.

We looked at the last arc raiders update, several of the same balance and stability themes came up. The new reward system aims to streamline progression while maintaining the challenge of the game. Players can expect to receive blueprints and tokens for every expedition they complete within the damage tiers. This update marks a significant adjustment to how players prepare for future content.
