has shared a new development update for Pocket PLAY and NEXT 2. Both devices were mentioned during the company’s May 21 product sharing session, but neither received a final release date.

Pocket PLAY slide-out Android phone and NEXT 2 Ryzen AI Max+ 395 Windows handheld remain on the roadmap

Pocket PLAY is AYANEO’s Android gaming phone with a slide-out controller design. The company says the device uses a 6.8-inch high-refresh-rate OLED display, a full gaming controller, dual intelligent touchpads, and MediaTek Dimensity 9300 hardware. It is still being positioned as a phone and handheld hybrid.

The latest PR does not add pricing or launch timing for Pocket PLAY. VideoCardz previously covered the device when AYANEO showed the sliding controller layout and later revealed the 6.8-inch 165 Hz OLED panel. The new update only confirms that development is still moving forward.

NEXT 2 is AYANEO’s upcoming Windows handheld based on Ryzen AI Max+ 395. AYANEO says the system uses a 9.06-inch OLED display, a dual-fan cooler, a 116.1 Wh battery, and multiple control options. This remains one of the larger handheld designs planned around AMD’s Strix Halo APU.

VideoCardz previously reported that AYANEO still planned to ship NEXT 2 in June, while sales remained closed at the time. The new PR does not change that status. It only confirms that AYANEO still lists the device among its active projects.
