Acer's new G710 is its compact gaming tablet that's aimed at mobile gamers who need more than just a smartphone display. This new 8.8-inch tablet is only available in China for now, and is a well-rounded product that can deliver high refresh rates and cellular connectivity in a compact package. Acer's new gaming tablet is a definite choice for those that want to enjoy 5G speeds and a bigger display without having to lug around a big laptop.
Compact 8.8-inch device features MediaTek Dimensity 8300 and Android 15
Running on the Android 15 operating system, Acer has gone with MediaTek's Dimensity 8300 chipset and Mali-G615 GPU. The Acer G710 has a 8.8-inch LCD display with a resolution of 3,008 x 1,880 pixels. It has a typical refresh rate of 144Hz and can go up to 165Hz if you activate the overclocked mode for improved gameplay.
The Acer G710 comes in two different versions and has UFS 4.0 storage for quick load times. The starting version has 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM with 256GB of storage, while the upgraded model has 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. The tablet has a 6,300mAh battery that can be charged via a 33W wired connection, and it weighs about 355g and is less than 7mm thick.
The Acer G710 can be purchased in China for a starting price of 4,099 yuan (or about $614) for the 8GB/256GB version. If you want the upgraded 12GB/512GB model, it costs 4,999 yuan (or about $748). We don't know if the new gaming tablet will be coming to other countries, or how much it would cost there.
It has dual-band Wi-Fi and 5G cellular connectivity, which means you can play online games on the go. The front camera is an 8MP sensor, and the rear camera is 13MP, which is fine for video calls and taking photos. Acer hasn't shared any details about the data transfer rate of the USB-C port in their product info.

It is just another tablet with a gaming label. The 33w charger is slow for that battery size.
Will the 5G modem actually work well for streaming games or is it just a selling point for the specs sheet?
The Dimensity 8300 is efficient so the modem should not throttle the CPU. It uses standard integrated cellular components.
