NIS America has announced a date for Western release of The Grimm Reapress and the Drearytale Monster giving global audience access to the title next spring. This release is significant as it gives non-Japanese consumers access to the title at last, for those that like to localize their gaming experiences. This release is filling the void between initial Japanese release and now for those that missed it first time around.

NIS America brings the title to PS5, Switch 2, Switch, and PC
PlayStation 5, Switch 2, Switch and PC via Steam is where we will see the release, giving both home and handheld console users the option to play. NIS America will be handling this cross platform distribution across all these vastly different hardware ecosystems.
- Platforms: PlayStation 5, Switch 2, Switch, PC (Steam)
- Release Date (West): May 13, 2027
- Release Date (Japan): April 30, 2027
- Audio/Subtitles: Japanese audio with English subtitles
May 13, 2027 is the date when we will see this game in the West with the Japanese release having been on April 30, 2027. This staggered release strategy lets the developer more efficiently manage regional support and localization.
Japanese audio with English subtitles is how we are getting the authentic voice acting in the game. Developer of the title is the same as we have for The Liar Princess and the Blind Prince. We have also had The Cruel King and the Great Hero as well. This developers track record may suggest a certain type of story telling style if you are a fan of those previous titles.
We have been following recently the likes of similar multi platform releases such as Parkasaurus, and this highlights the trend of niche titles now coming to more and more hardware platforms. Grimm Reapress is part of that trend of ever growing availability.
The Grimm Reapress and the Drearytale Monster has been confirmed for Western release on May 13, 2027. With Japanese audio English Subtitles we are getting it for PlayStation 5. We also get it for Switch 2 and Switch along with PC. Now we know this is the end of the global release cycle for the title.
