One More Level rolled out the update 1.005 for Valor Mortis on the 23rd of October, tackling the ongoing hit box issues with bosses and some quest-stopping issues. If you've ever experienced the frustration of thinking you dodged an attack but still got hit, this patch should make things feel much fairer right away. The main focus here is fixing how enemy hit boxes line up with their animations to make boss fights a little less frustrating.
Patch resolves stuck progression and damage window issues
This update was rolled out by the developer on all platforms, with the Xbox and PC versions getting fixed on the 22nd of October. The PlayStation 5 update was pushed out on the 23rd of October. So they're making sure everyone gets these fixes as quickly as possible on different platforms.
This patch also cleans up a bunch of critical bugs that were stopping people from finishing certain parts. For instance, there was an issue where you'd get stuck if you and the boss died at the same exact moment. Plus, they've fine-tuned how damage is dealt by certain enemies like the Risen Duelist and Eternal Guardsman to make it more in sync with their animations.
They've also tackled a range of boss-related issues, like how some bosses were blocking progression (The Iron Marshall, Sphinx, and Captain Raphael). On top of that, there are fixes for terrain clipping problems, so status effects like Burning or Stasis that shouldn't stick around permanently won't keep showing up. Side quests like Sleeping Beauty, Misericorde, and In the Name of Art can now properly start and be finished.
We checked out the Big Walk Patch 1.005 Fixes Quiet earlier when we were keeping an eye on One more level launches. This gives us a peek into how the developer is constantly working to smooth out their gameplay mechanics in all their games. The update for Valor Mortis is a big move towards making the core combat feel more solid.
