Now you can easily inject custom VBIOS into NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50, 40 & 30 series cards without need of actually flashing the firmware. Developer released a new open-source way of doing it. It bypasses the flash process and instead uses a driver-level injection/override.

Open-source tool injects custom VBIOS via driver override to raise power limits
That means you can change power limits and such without actually flashing the firmware. So if you'd like to modify your hardware settings without the risk of bricking, this is gonna be very handy. Especially since it's open source and free.
Developer Panchovix has created VBIOS Vix Editor and the loader to make it work. Currently it's targeted towards RTX 5080/RTX 5090 & RTX 4090. Also all RTX 40 & 30 series family.

The loader will inject the custom VBIOS through NVIDIA driver itself. So in software level it's doing the changes. Which makes it easier to revert back compared to actual firmware changes.
In RTX 5080 testing they could change power limit from 360W to 500W. RTX 5090 tested and changed the power limit from 600W to 800W. RTX 4090 power limit changed from 550W to 671W.
So this tool can really bump up the limits a lot on current generation hardware. It doesn't change the physical limits on GPU itself, only the software limits.
Experimental for older Turing GPUs. Also not all firmware parameters are tested on hardware itself. Also it's using NVIDIA driver for the loader so it's possible driver update could break the compatibility with the driver-level override. Keep in mind that changing the driver might reset or break your custom VBIOS. (This is specifically for driver-level injection they've used).
