Hasbro has canceled the Dungeons & Dragons game in development at Stig Asmussen's Giant Skull studio. The project was announced in June 2025 and was scrapped within a year.
Second D&D game shelved recently
The cancellation marks the second D&D game to be shelved recently, following Starbreeze's Project Baxter. A spokesperson for Wizards of the Coast stated that the company "assess concepts at every stage of development."
Stig Asmussen, founder of Giant Skull, said that "Things are good at Giant Skull" despite the cancellation. The studio's current status and future projects remain unclear.
Bloomberg and Insider Gaming reported the news. Hasbro has not commented on the reasons for the cancellation or any potential impact on its broader gaming strategy.
