EA released College Football 27 update 1.012 on September 22 to address community feedback on gameplay balance. This patch adjusts core mechanics to make defensive reads sharper and passing outcomes more predictable. Players relying on quick passes or specific blocking schemes will notice the immediate shift in how the game reacts to their inputs.

The update targets several key areas of on-field interaction. Run-action blocking detection now identifies threats more effectively, which should reduce the frequency of unexpected gaps in the defensive line. Meanwhile, quarterback spin moves behind the line of scrimmage have been reduced in effectiveness to curb their previous dominance in tight spaces.
Passing consistency received specific tuning for off-target and hurried throws. Wide receiver catch success rates were adjusted to better reflect the difficulty of these situations, aiming for a more realistic outcome distribution. The patch also resolves a field-goal blocking bug that involved looping defenders, ensuring those plays now function as intended.
Additional fixes address custom-adjusted contain calls, which were previously not always respected by the AI. Despite these improvements, persistent issues remain, including significant bugs in Dynasty mode and glitches in the Road to CFP career mode. Audio issues also continue to affect the experience for some users.
We looked at the last College Football 27 update earlier while tracking EA's release schedule, and several of the same balance and stability themes came up. There is no word yet whether the developers have a more comprehensive changelog, which might go live later to address the remaining unresolved bugs.
