Nodding Heads Games revealed new gameplay details for Raji: Kaliyuga at Tokyo Game Show 2026, giving players a clearer look at the sequel's combat and narrative direction. This developer commentary video matters because it confirms the game will return to the mythological action roots of the original while introducing a second playable character. Buyers interested in the franchise now have concrete information on how the story progresses and how the new mechanics function in practice.
Sequel introduces dreamwalker Darsh alongside Raji in 2026
The sequel launches in 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, and the Microsoft Store. Raji: Kaliyuga features dual protagonists that allow players to embody both Raji, the warrior of faith, and Darsh, the dreamwalker. The game director Avichal Singh explained that characters switch based on story events and act as companions to one another during gameplay.
- Platforms: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, Microsoft Store)
- Protagonists: Raji (warrior of faith), Darsh (dreamwalker)
- Raji Abilities: Acrobatic martial arts, divine Trishul, knockdown effects, quick executes
- Darsh Abilities: Gravity, time, and energy manipulation (Siddhis), orb conjuring, black hole summoning
- Evasion System: Customized for each character: Raji (side steps, flips, dodge rolls), Darsh (twirls, rolls)
Raji employs acrobatic martial arts and wields the divine Trishul to engage enemies. The Trishul can push back opponents, resulting in a knockdown effect that players can follow with quick executes. Darsh awakens to immense powers controlling Siddhis to manipulate gravity, time, and energy. He can conjure orbs and summon a black hole to control the battlefield.
Each protagonist has a customized evasion system tailored to their movement style. Raji can perform side steps, flips, and dodge rolls to avoid attacks. Darsh performs twirls and rolls to evade incoming damage. The story picks up six years after the events of the first game when Mahabalasura prematurely unsealed the heavens, shattering the divine equilibrium and plunging all realms into endless war.
A release date has yet to be announced for the title. We looked at the original Raji game earlier while tracking Nodding Heads Games development. The studio continues to build on the established lore with this new entry.
