New biomes and structures expand exploration options

Mojang released this update, titled Wilderness Bound, for the Bedrock Edition of the game. Console players will see this update listed as version 3.48, while the underlying Bedrock version is 26.50. The update brings a bunch of new features across all platforms, including new structures and biomes that change how players interact with the game world.

The update introduces the Abandoned Camp structure, which spawns across multiple biomes and contains loot and straw beds. A new Dappled Forest biome features Poplar Trees, Red Shrubs, and Shelf Mushrooms, adding visual variety to the landscape. Players can also place new decorative blocks, including Wool Stairs, Wool Slabs, Concrete Stairs, Concrete Slabs, and Cushions, to enhance their builds.

A new Straw Bed item allows players to sleep temporarily without setting their spawn point, offering flexibility for temporary rest stops. Mojang also added a Green vignette for the nausea effect when screen distortion is turned off, improving accessibility for sensitive players. The patch includes performance and stability fixes for Realms, chunk loading, and memory leaks to ensure smoother gameplay.

The Wilderness Bound update is available globally starting September 15. Players can download the update now to access the new biomes, structures, and blocks. This release marks a significant content drop for the Bedrock Edition, providing fresh exploration and building options for the community.
