NetEase released the Season 10 update for Marvel Rivals on September 11, 2026, bringing significant roster changes and balance adjustments to the global player base. This patch introduces Gorr the God Destroyer as a new playable character while overhauling the existing gameplay for Scarlet Witch. Players should expect to adapt their strategies immediately, as the update reshapes the meta for both damage dealers and support roles. The changes affect core mechanics for the entire Strategist class, making energy management a tighter constraint for healers.

NetEase releases patch 1.72 with new hero and balance shifts
The update, identified as Patch 1.72/1.000.107, launches globally at 09:00 UTC on September 11 and runs through October 9, 2026. NetEase described the Scarlet Witch changes as a complete rework designed to channel her hex-casting might more effectively. The developer stated, "Wanda is weaving a new brand of chaos! We have completed a rework of Scarlet Witch’s abilities and gameplay to better channel her hex-casting might." This rework replaces her previous kit with a new ability called Scarlet Hex and a passive that converts 25% of her damage into bonus health.
Several other heroes received targeted balance changes to address specific gameplay issues. Black Cat lost the invincibility effect during her Phantom Pursuit ability but now gains 50% damage reduction instead. Wolverine’s Savage Claw base damage increased from 15 to 18 per hit, while Captain America’s base health rose from 300 to 350. Deadpool’s healing during The Ban Hammer ability increased from 25 per second to 35 per second. Loki’s self-healing during stealth increased from 20 per second to 30 per second, and Mantis’s area healing in Soul Form jumped from 5 per second to 30 per second.
The Strategist class faces a broader reduction in energy generation efficiency. Healing-to-energy conversion dropped from 70% to 65%, and damage-to-energy conversion fell from 55% to 50%. NetEase noted that "the entire Strategist roster is seeing a shift in how they generate Ultimate Energy." The patch also includes bug fixes for collision issues on the K’un-Lun: Heart of Heaven map and resolves exploits like the speedy emote and phantom soundscape. The Season 4 Battle Pass, Fruit of Immortality, returns for a limited time alongside the new seasonal story event, The Tetrameron.
We looked at the last Marvel Rivals update earlier while tracking balance trends, and several of the same stability themes appear here. The update extends the Endgame Encore event and offers a 20% discount on MCU-themed bundles during the promotional period. Players can access the new content and battle pass rewards until the October 9 deadline. The patch notes confirm all listed changes are active immediately upon deployment.
