2.40 Patch is primarily geared towards Elder Sims, where it introduces 4 new playable characters to the game's Gallery. This includes new Sims named Raven Ballard, Elena Marquez, Daniel Kwon, and Malik Nasir. Furthermore, the patch offers free cosmetic items.
These include 2 new hairstyles, 4 new pieces of clothing, and 5 recolors for older Sims. These new Sims and items can be easily accessed from the in-game Gallery feature.
For technical improvements, this Patch 2.40 fixes over 150 bugs that could impact stability or visuals. For example, 14 new crash fixes have been implemented. These crash fixes are mainly related to Windows signed files and loading errors on PS consoles. Also, you'll see fixes for dining autonomy issues, save-file corruption, and visual issues while transforming into a Werewolf.
One of the major quality-of-life features added is the ability to turn on and off the muscle and weight changes for Sims. You can turn these settings on/off on a per-sim basis or globally. Finally, Patch 2.40 includes all the standard content. This Patch adds 11 new Build/Buy objects to the catalog.

I really hope the new muscle and weight toggles work per sim. Do they carry over to existing saves or only fresh starts?
They apply retroactively. Your existing elders will get the slider controls immediately after the download finishes.
Finally EA stops ignoring the aging mechanic. The old save corruption bug was ruining my legacy runs.
the werewolf fix is what i actually waited for 💀
It is not just visual glitches in the werewolf form. The animation state machine was breaking on the PS5 backend.
I just want to know if Raven Ballard has a distinct personality trait set or if she is generic.
She has a unique trait. It interacts well with the new elderly clothing options in the gallery.
It is free so i cannot complain. Worth the download time for the stability fixes alone.
