NEC Personal Computers has released the LAVIE BM94C, a new laptop that prioritizes extreme portability and battery life over raw power. This device matters to travelers and remote workers because it weighs just 999 grams yet claims a two-day runtime without a charger. The company achieved this endurance by using a specialized 99.9 Wh battery built with aerospace-grade carbon laminate from Toray. The LAVIE BM94C runs on Intel Core Ultra processors, with options for the Core Ultra 5 (models 322 or 335) or the Core Ultra 7 355. It pairs these chips with up to 32 GB of LPDDR5X memory and an SSD of up to 1 TB. The system features a 14-inch display with a 1920×1200 resolution. NEC designed the internal architecture to support modern connectivity standards while keeping the chassis thin and light.

The company states these figures are enough to leave the charger at home for an overnight trip. The LAVIE BM94C is available in Japan starting at 584,100 JPY (around $3,582). It ships in late July.
