Majority of teenagers looking forward to purchasing Grand Theft Auto VI will likely play the game multiplayer. According to a survey conducted by Piper Sandler, as much as 90% of the purchasers plan to use the online part of the game. The fact that the title's online mode is in such a high demand is significant because Rockstar Games has yet to make an official announcement regarding the multiplayer part of the game. We recommend that the fans and investors should keep in mind that the online part of the game remains a mystery at the moment.

Survey reveals massive teen demand for multiplayer despite silence from Rockstar

The market study was conducted on the teenagers in the US and involved a sample of 9,000 people. It clearly shows a trend of interest in social features of the upcoming open-world game. At the moment, Rockstar Games is still silent on the launch timing and form of the online game. There is a clear disconnect between the consumer demand and official product information.

According to the survey, 40% of the purchasers will also invest in in-game purchases. This clearly indicates a large segment of the user base willing to spend money on top of the initial game purchase. The analysts believe that around 44% of the users will become paying customers for the online game. This indicates a potentially very profitable opportunity of a live service, provided the game launches as planned.

On the other hand, the planned launch will heavily depend on the hardware availability. 7 out of 10 users that own a PS5 or |S will purchase the game. It clearly shows that the console audience is waiting for the next big title from Rockstar. It's clear that the game is going to generate a large hardware engagement among the teenage audience.
