Xiaomi is preparing to bring its T-series lineup back to the Indian market with the upcoming Xiaomi 17T. The company recently posted a teaser on X stating that "The T is coming," which signals an official return after skipping several generations of the series in this region. The global launch event for the device is scheduled for May 28, 2026.

Standard model features Dimensity chip and Leica cameras ahead of May launch

The standard model will feature a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Power comes from MediaTek's Dimensity 8500 Ultra processor paired with a 6,500mAh battery and 67W charging support. The camera system includes a Leica-branded triple setup with a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP telephoto lens offering 5x optical zoom, and a 12MP ultrawide sensor. A 32MP front camera rounds out the imaging hardware.

Early pricing leaks for the Indian market suggest two possible price points. The phone could launch around ₹75,000 (expected) INR (about $778). Another recent leak hinted at a lower figure closer to ₹55,000 (leaked after discounts) INR (about $571), though final pricing remains unconfirmed due to conflicting reports. Availability in India is expected shortly after the May 28 global launch event.

Current leaks suggest India may only receive the standard Xiaomi 17T and not the higher-end 17T Pro variant, but no official confirmation exists yet. The return of the T-series marks a strategic shift for the brand in one of its key markets after several years of absence.
