Ubisoft has officially confirmed significant changes to the BLAST R6 Salt Lake City Major tournament following visa issues affecting several participating teams. The announcement details how the event organizers have adjusted the schedule and secured emergency replacements to ensure the competition proceeds without major disruption.
Wolves Esports will not be able to attend the event in Utah due to travel restrictions, resulting in a 20th-place finish for the team and their associated prize money and SI points. Their matches are recorded as 0-7 forfeits but will be excluded from tiebreaker calculations, while the tournament fixture was removed from Day 2 of the schedule. Four other teams have received stand-in players to fill vacant roster spots: Noa replaces Direction at EDG on loan from Team Secret, and Hotancold replaces Adrian at Wildcard Gaming on loan from M80.
Additional emergency replacements were secured for Twisted Minds where Guardz replaces Dov2hkiin, and Five Fears where Fenix replaces Archer who was serving as a coach. Ubisoft stated that players who resolve their travel issues during the event are allowed to rejoin their teams if they wish to do so.
