Tengo Project updates classic NES shooter with new characters and 16-bit visuals
The project positions itself as a direct remake of S.C.A.T.: Special Cybernetic Attack Team. It retains the core side-scrolling shoot 'em up gameplay that defined the original title. The visual style relies on detailed pixel art to capture the retro feel while introducing new characters and features.
The remake will launch with support for nine languages to reach a global audience. The supported languages include English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese. This multilingual support ensures that players from major markets can access the game without language barriers.
A playable version of the game will be available for testing at Tokyo Game Show 2026. The event takes place from September 17 to 21, 2026. Fans can experience the new features and characters firsthand during this showcase window.
