Gamers and heavy users in China now have a cheaper way to keep their phones from throttling during intense sessions. Nubia released the Magnetic Phone Cooler Neo, a compact accessory that tackles heat buildup without requiring a smartphone app. This device offers a straightforward hardware solution for players who want consistent performance without software overhead.

Compact accessory offers thermoelectric cooling without an app

The Neo borrows its core cooling engine from the RedMagic Cooler 8 Pro, which makes it a practical choice for existing RedMagic fans. It uses a 36 by 36mm thermoelectric cooling plate backed by an aluminum heatsink to draw heat away from the device. A seven-blade fan spins at up to 6,000 rpm to push air through the system, while the unit itself measures just 25mm thick and weighs 90 grams.

Specifications

  • Cooling Power: 25W
  • Minimum Temperature: -18°C
  • Temperature Reduction: up to 60°C
  • Cooling Technology: Thermoelectric Cooling (TEC)
  • Fan Speed: up to 6,000 rpm

Users can switch between four physical modes: Silent, Powerful, Overclocking, and Temperature Control. On its lowest setting, the fan operates at 33dB, which keeps noise manageable for most environments. The cooler can lower a device’s temperature by up to 60 degrees and reach temperatures as low as -18 degrees Celsius. It relies on a magnetic ring for mounting but also includes clamp attachments and a standard 1/4-inch screw thread for alternative setups.

Nubia claims the hardware can handle heavy tasks like gaming, fast charging, or outdoor use by maintaining these low temperatures. The device features physical buttons for mode selection and includes RGB lighting. It goes on sale September 10th through JD.com with a discounted price of 99 YUAN (around $14.71) CNY (around $14.71). The standard price is set at 159 YUAN (around $23.63) CNY (around $23.63).

We looked at the RedMagic Cooler 8 Pro earlier while tracking high-performance smartphone accessories. The Neo provides similar thermal performance at a lower entry point for the Chinese market. Buyers who need reliable cooling for demanding mobile games can now access this hardware for under $15.
