Xiaomi Redmi Pad 3 certified with 9,820 mAh battery and IP52 rating. RAM and storage options leak as Xiaomi focuses on battery life for the budget tablet.

Xiaomi is all set to launch its next budget-range Redmi Pad, which is said to be the Redmi Pad 3. And the biggest complaint against any budget model is addressed with this one – battery life. Latest certifications have surfaced which hint at a much bigger battery pack on the upcoming Redmi Pad.

Certification documents reveal battery and RAM upgrades for the upcoming budget tablet

This means the upcoming affordable tablet will give you more hours of usage before you need to plug it in. The importance of this change is in the philosophy behind it. Xiaomi is seemingly focusing more on the usability than on making small cosmetic changes.

Redmi Pad 3 Confirmed Specs

  • Battery Capacity: 9820 mAh
  • RAM Configurations: 4 GB, 6 GB, 8 GB
  • Storage Configurations: 128 GB, 256 GB
  • Connectivity: 4G
  • Ingress Protection: IP52

Redmi Pad 3 (assumed name) has been found in certification listings. These listings have confirmed the main hardware profile. We are following this leak closely as this is related to what we had previously reported about the Redmi Pad 3 4G, which had been certified with rugged abilities.

This upcoming tablet is positioned towards budget-minded customers like the predecessor Redmi Pad 2. However, this time the focus is on longer usage.

The most important detail that this upcoming tablet will have is a much bigger battery pack. We're talking about a 9,820 mAh battery. This is definitely a big upgrade from the 9,000 mAh battery pack on Redmi Pad 2.

The memory choice can be 4GB, 6GB, or 8GB RAM, with the storage available being 128GB or 256GB. The 4G support is also confirmed along with IP52 rating for dust and water resistance.

We don't know any more details about the SoC yet, display size, and more importantly pricing. It's unclear whether we can expect the same 11-inch 1600 x 2560 IPS display on this upcoming device. It's best to hold off on any purchase decision till we know more about it. So, we suggest waiting for the official announcement to confirm all these details.

So, these certifications show us the first glimpse of what the Redmi Pad 3 will be like internally as well as the physical ratings. The bigger battery pack and IP52 rating tell us that Xiaomi is trying to make it as durable and usable as possible in the budget range. We'll keep you updated on this story as soon as we get the official details for pricing and availability.
