There’s a rumor about the development of a fourth mainline game in the Hitman series. This suggests that the franchise is not stopping after the recent 2 game cycle. As far as fans of stealth simulation genre are concerned this is an interesting news because it gives an idea (but not yet confirmed) that this franchise isn’t about to stop.
Voice actor David Bateson confirms Hitman 4 is in development
The first sign of new IO Interactive content in development was given by the voice actor David Bateson at RetroGameCon. He’s the one who actually announced the project. IO Interactive are staying very silent about it for various NDA (non disclosure agreements). This means that they cannot say anything about the plot or even about the development stages.
What is this report about ? It is about Hitman 4. Possibly a sequel to the latest games developed by IO Interactive.
The source is no less than David Bateson, the legendary voice actor of Agent 47. He confirms that there is indeed a game in development. He is very apologetic for not being able to tell us anything about the contents of the game.
It is so top secret. This rumor – if true – means that they don’t give up on the franchise but continue it after the latest games.
We don’t know anything about specs, release dates, platforms, etc. What we know for sure (thanks to Bateson) is that there is a project in development. We can’t know the specifics.
No announcements, no trailers, no gameplay etc. by IO Interactive. It’s understandable. They don’t want to share information about plot and development until the official announcement.
We have no information about price/availability. The game isn’t even officially announced by the developer. The only thing that we have is a testimony from the voice actor – who is under the NDA.
Take it as a first confirmation for the development of the game, but not as a certain release. The studio doesn’t even give us some dates for when we will see the game. When we will pay for it.
