Valve co-creator Minh Le has admitted that he does not play Counter-Strike 2 regularly. The developer known as Gooseman shared his gaming habits during a recent interview with Hellcase.
Valve co-founder shares his recent return to the tactical shooter franchise after years of focusing on other projects.
Le stated that he only recently logged into the game to check out the return of the Cache map in late April 2026. This iconic level was last part of the active competitive pool back in 2019 and received a full visual redesign for Counter-Strike 2 upon its reintroduction.
The co-founder explained that his current focus has shifted away from the tactical shooter franchise. He is now concentrating on Alpha Response, an early-access first-person shooter inspired by classic arcade-style titles like Virtua Cop.
Le noted that he has not been a regular player of Counter-Strike since around 2007 or 2008. His recent session to view the updated Cache environment highlights how long it has been since he engaged with the series' modern iteration.
