Gearbox released Borderlands 4 update 1.100.002 on September 17 to refresh the game's weekly content cycle. This patch matters to players because it introduces new boss encounters and cosmetic rewards that reset the endgame grind. We track these updates to help you decide whether to jump back in for the new challenges.

New weekly bosses and shared progression cosmetics arrive in latest patch

The update adds Vault Hunter Heads and Skins for the Loveless the Hacker character. Gearbox implemented Shared Progression for these cosmetics so players can use them across their entire account. This change ensures that grinding for these items benefits your main character rather than just a single playthrough.

Technical fixes in this patch address splitscreen experience issues in the Providence zone. The developers isolated screen shake and controller haptics to the local character's zipline. This adjustment prevents motion sickness or controller vibration from affecting the entire party during specific vehicle sequences.

Weekly Activities now feature four bosses: Idolator Sol, The Timekeeper, Vile Prototype, and Fractis. Players can also attempt the Weekly Wildcard Mission called Hangover Helper. Completing this mission rewards the Lucian’s Flank Vladof Assault Rifle. The mission modifiers include Centripetal, Irritable, and Quickened effects.

Gearbox relocated Maurice’s Black Market Vending Machine server-side. This backend change likely improves stability for item purchases and inventory management. The update confirms these features are live for all players as of the September 17 release date.
