Infinity Ward released a new patch for the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 beta on August 25. This update arrives as early access for the beta concludes, shifting the focus to the broader player base. Players can now test the latest balance changes and new content before the open beta window begins on August 28.
Infinity Ward releases patch 1.002 with new maps and balance adjustments
The patch, identified as version 1.002, introduces several gameplay adjustments and new maps. Infinity Ward stated that the update rolls out as early access ends, signaling a transition in the beta phase. The changes aim to refine combat mechanics and expand the available multiplayer options for testers.
Key technical changes include a reduction in the slow duration of Frangible rounds by 26.8 percent. The slow magnitude for these rounds also decreased by 21.4 percent, making the effect less punishing. Additionally, the developer lowered enemy footstep distance and volume to adjust audio cues. The player level cap has been raised to 30, allowing for more progression during the beta.
New content includes the Resurgence map Zodiac and the Ground War map Combat Outpost. The map Cachette is now available for map voting, giving players more choice in matchmaking. A new game mode called Inflation has been added to the rotation. Daily Challenges can now be rerolled, offering more flexibility for players completing objectives.
When we covered the last Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 update, several of the same balance and stability themes came up. The open beta runs globally from August 28 to September 1. Players should install version 1.002 to access these changes during the open beta period.
