Overclocker Bill Alverson pushed an AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT engineering sample to 4,643 MHz, the second highest GPU frequency ever recorded, using liquid nitrogen and custom software.

Overclocker Bill 'Sampson' Alverson pushed an engineering sample of the Radeon RX 9060 XT to 4,643 MHz. That is roughly 48 percent above 's listed boost clock. The run ranks as the second-highest GPU frequency ever recorded.

Overclocker uses LN2 and internal tools

The card is an unreleased AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT, a discrete GPU aimed at the mainstream market. Only two discrete GPU overclocking runs have ever exceeded 4.0 GHz, and both involved this same model. The world record of 4.769 GHz was set by Splave on the same card.

The motherboard used was reportedly an MSI board, though the exact model has not been confirmed. No pricing or availability details for the RX 9060 XT have been disclosed. The card remains an engineering sample.

The overclock demonstrates the headroom in AMD's RDNA architecture when extreme cooling and internal tools are used. The result also suggests the RX 9060 XT's potential performance when it reaches retail. For now, the confirmed facts are the frequency, voltage, and temperature readings from the record attempt.
