Lenovo ThinkPad X1 2-in-1 Gen 11: Only Top Config Has Fast Graphics

Lenovo released the 2026 ThinkPad X1 2-in-1 Gen 11, a new convertible laptop that swaps Intel Lunar Lake processors for the newer Panther Lake lineup. This update matters because most configurations suffer from significantly weaker integrated graphics compared to the previous generation. Buyers who rely on the standard integrated GPU may find the performance regression disappointing, while those needing higher graphical power must select a specific high-end model.

Most configurations feature slower integrated graphics than the Gen 10

The device serves as a direct replacement for the ThinkPad X1 2-in-1 Gen 10 and runs on Intel's latest Panther Lake architecture. Lenovo offers six distinct processor options ranging from the Core Ultra 5 325 to the high-performance Ultra X7 368H. These chips form the core of the new system, but the graphical experience depends entirely on which specific CPU tier a user selects.

Most of the new ThinkPad configurations utilize the Intel Graphics 4 Xe3 integrated GPU, which delivers modest performance levels. Only the top-tier Ultra X7 368H model includes the Intel Arc B390 integrated GPU. This specific graphics chip provides a substantial performance jump, offering up to 2.5 times faster graphics processing than the standard Xe3 unit found in other SKUs.

The standard Xe3 graphics in the Gen 11 perform so poorly that they fall behind the Arc 140V GPU in the older Gen 10 model. This means users upgrading from the previous generation to a non-X7 Gen 11 unit will experience a noticeable drop in graphical capability. Configurations equipped with the faster Arc B390 GPU start at a price of around $3000 or more, reflecting the premium required for adequate graphics performance.
