Arc System Works released version 2.0 for the game DAMON and BABY to expand gameplay with new challenges and quality-of-life improvements. The update matters because it gives players access to high-difficulty trial stages and allows them to rematch previously defeated bosses. These additions address player requests for more replayability and easier progression through the game's systems.
New trial stages and quality of life improvements arrive in patch
The core of this update is the new game mode called The Trials of Sir Bloodedge. Players can visit Sir Bloodedge at a specific location to receive the Tome of Seals and unlock these challenging trial stages. The gauntlets feature intense combat encounters and tricky obstacle-filled platforming challenges that test player skills. One of the trials also includes a special appearance by the Mice from Of Mice and Sand.
Arc System Works added a Boss Replay Feature that lets players rematch bosses they have already defeated. The developer also introduced a brand-new costume for the Demon King Damon. The update includes several quality-of-life improvements such as Safe Zones where enemies can no longer invade bases. Cooking recipes can now be viewed directly from the inventory and shops for better convenience.
Other changes include a Quick Restart option to reload from the most recent save file after a Game Over. The cooking menu will no longer automatically close after cooking, allowing players to prepare multiple dishes consecutively. Once a weapon has been acquired, it will now be available for purchase at the Weapon Shop. Lost Charms can also be repurchased from Kokopelli through the new Lost Item Recovery feature.
Players can now load save data directly from the Other tab in the inventory for easier access. Fluid Combat allows interaction actions while aiming a gun, and hint optimization adjusted signboard text. The update added thumbstick adjustment settings to the Options menu and sub-quest icons to the map. The appearance of the Demon King’s Handgun Coin Ammo now changes based on its element.
