The Marshall Milton headphones now support the LDAC codec for higher-resolution wireless audio. This addition allows Android users to transmit more data over Bluetooth than standard codecs like SBC or AAC. The upgrade brings cleaner highs and improved spatial imaging to compatible devices.

Marshall Milton headphones now support the LDAC codec for higher-resolution wireless audio.

Marshall designed the Milton to work with Android 8 or later operating systems. The device already handles standard SBC and AAC formats, but LDAC adds a third high-resolution option for users who want better sound quality. Apple iPhone owners cannot access this feature because iOS does not support the codec.

  • Bluetooth Codec Support: LDAC, SBC, AAC
  • Android Version Requirement: Android 8 or later
  • LDAC Bitrates: 330 kbps, 660 kbps, 990 kbps

LDAC operates at three distinct bitrates depending on connection stability. The 330 kbps mode maintains a reliable link with minimal audio artifacts. The 660 kbps setting offers standard high-resolution playback, while the 990 kbps tier delivers maximum detail for compatible FLAC files and headphone drivers.

The improvement over AAC remains subtle and depends heavily on source quality. LDAC transmits significantly more data than SBC or AAC, which reduces compression artifacts during playback. The codec acts as a refinement rather than a complete overhaul of Bluetooth audio performance.

Marshall did not list pricing or release dates for the Milton in this update. The company focused on explaining how users can access better sound quality through their existing Android devices.
