Ninja Theory canceled its experimental horror title Project Mara. The studio now redirects all development resources to Senua, the third entry in the Hellblade series.

Studio redirects all development resources toward Senua for a 2027 release.

Project Mara operated as an independent experimental project within Ninja Theory. The cancellation ends that specific initiative and consolidates the team's efforts on a single franchise direction.

The studio maintains an 85-person workforce dedicated entirely to Senua. This title targets a 2027 release window and blends combat, traversal, and puzzle mechanics into its core loop.

Senua replaces Project Mara as Ninja Theory's primary development focus. The shift signals a return to established franchise roots after the experimental horror project concluded.

Dom Matthews confirmed the cancellation details in an Xbox Wire interview. He stated that the entire studio now concentrates on Senua, which features distinct gameplay segments for combat and puzzle solving.
