Atari announced a remaster of the first Thief game. Thief: The Dark Project Remastered is coming to PC this Winter. Nightdive Studios and Eidos Montreal are developing it.

Remaster includes Thief Gold content and KEX Engine enhancements

The remaster uses Nightdive's KEX Engine. It includes all content from Thief Gold. The remaster preserves the original's large levels and multiple approaches to completing missions.

The game features improved textures, character models, and animations. Quality-of-life improvements include a weapon and item wheel, as well as a mission selector. It supports 4K resolution and up to 120 FPS.

PC system requirements detailed for Thief remaster

Gamepad support now includes rumble and gyro controls. The remaster has built-in support for custom campaigns. Built-in support for custom campaigns provides access to thousands of hours of extra content.

Nightdive released the PC system requirements. Minimum specs are a dual-core 2.0 GHz CPU, 2GB RAM, and a GPU with DirectX 11 or Vulkan 1.1 support. Recommended specs are an Intel Core i5-2300 or Phenom II X4 945, 4GB RAM, and a DirectX 11 or Vulkan 1.1 GPU.
