According to Commercial Times Taiwan, the M5 Ultra offers significantly more RAM than competing platforms like AMD Ryzen Strix Halo or Nvidia DGX Spark. However, the GPU core count of 84 is questionable, as the M5 Max tops out at 40 GPU cores, so this detail should be treated with caution.
The Mac Studio is expected to launch globally on June 8, 2026, coinciding with the start of WWDC. Pricing has not been disclosed.
The M5 Ultra continues Apple's strategy of combining two high-end chips for extreme performance, following the M3 Ultra. The Mac Studio sits between the Mac Mini and Mac Pro in Apple's desktop lineup.
