Xiaomi 17T Series Launches in China with Battery Upgrade and Lower Price

Owen Carter 2 min read

Xiaomi launches the 17T and 17T Pro smartphones in China, offering hardware upgrades like a 7,000 mAh battery and significantly lower prices compared to European models.

Xiaomi launched the 17T and 17T Pro smartphones in China, bringing a lineup that previously stayed exclusive to international markets. The Chinese models feature hardware upgrades over their global counterparts, most notably a larger battery capacity on the base 17T.

Chinese models feature larger batteries and cheaper pricing than global versions

The standard Xiaomi 17T runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra processor and includes a 6.59-inch 12-bit 120 Hz LTPS OLED display. The higher-end 17T Pro steps up to a Dimensity 9500 chipset paired with a larger 6.83-inch 12-bit 144 Hz LTPS OLED screen.

Battery capacity reaches 7,000 mAh on both the Chinese 17T and the 17T Pro. The base model receives this upgrade directly from its global version's 6,500 mAh cell. The 17T Pro retains the global specifications for power delivery, supporting 100 W wired charging and 50 W wireless charging.

Pricing in China sits significantly lower than European retail costs. The Xiaomi 17T with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage starts at CNY 2,999. A higher configuration with 512 GB of storage costs CNY 3,499.

The Chinese pricing translates to roughly half the cost of European models for equivalent specifications. The base 17T SKU lists at €385 in Europe compared to its local launch price. The global version carries a much higher MSRP across all storage tiers.
