StarTech.com announced the 208N-USB4-DOCK on April 30. This new docking station targets users of MacBook, Windows, and systems. The device functions as a driver-free USB4 native dual-screen dock. It connects to host computers via a single upstream USB-C cable.

The dock features a 21V DC-in power input for operation. Front panel connectivity includes two USB-A ports rated at 10Gbps and one USB-C port also rated at 10Gbps. Rear ports consist of a 2.5GbE RJ45 Ethernet jack and a legacy USB-A port running at 480Mbps. Video output options include two DisplayPort 1.4 connectors and one USB-C port supporting DP Alt Mode at 10Gbps.

New driver-free docking station supports dual screens up to 8K resolution

Users can connect up to two displays simultaneously using the available video outputs. The dock supports a single screen at 8K resolution with a 60Hz refresh rate. Dual screen configurations max out at 6K resolution at 60Hz. The upstream USB-C connection provides 40Gbps data transfer speeds and delivers 100W of power delivery output to the host device.
