Rockstar Games has rolled out an update to its PC launcher which introduces new social features and controller support. The new social overlay is more intuitive and offers a more natural navigation experience for Discord users or gamepad enthusiasts. The update is a step towards the release of Grand Theft Auto VI on consoles.

New overlay features Discord chat and streamer mode

The update is for the Rockstar Games Launcher on version 1.0.110.3139. The Rockstar Games Launcher is the central platform for managing all of Rockstar's games for PC users on Windows. This update is more about the user experience than it is introducing new games.

The launcher now has a new overlay with an improved user experience that includes the integration of Discord friends into the launcher. Now you can text your buddies from right inside the app. Full controller support is now available for accessing the menu.

For achievements, Red Dead Redemption 2 now offers a rarity display as well as a progress bar. A new streamer mode has been added which will hide all the potentially sensitive information on the overlay when you're streaming. This is to help declutter the experience for all those streamers out there.

The console release of GTA VI is set for November 19, 2026. Some believe that the new update is indicative of Rockstar getting ready for the PC release of the game. Rockstar has not yet announced an official date for the PC release of the title.

    Does the controller support extend to the overlay menus or just in-game? I hate using a mouse for settings.

      It extends to the overlay. The navigation feels like standard Xbox input mapping now. No more keyboard required.

    ngl i just want to know if this fixes the launcher crashing on win11. otherwise its fine.

    This does not signal an imminent PC release. It is a UX polish for the console launch window. Do not read too much into it.

    Red Dead 2 achievement rarity is a nice touch. Takes forever to grind those.

    streamer mode was needed. My friends were complaining about sensitive info popping up.

    I prefer the old minimalist overlay. Less clutter is better even with discord.
