Today, Lenovo has been announced that their new budget friendly peripheral, the Aurora GK1077 Lite. The keyboard itself is a smaller form-factor one that is more suited towards casual users who want a keyboard which prioritizes portability and affordability above an actual competitive gaming experience. This new product is significant because it provides a full wireless experience with its own built-in display and dial, all for less than $20.

Budget keyboard features status screen and rotary dial

This is pretty rare for such a price. So, if you're in the market for a new peripheral to use as a second keyboard for on the go or even at home, but don't want something intense for your home office, then you can keep in mind that this keyboard is more for daily usage than ultra-fast esports use.

Specifications

  • Layout: 70%
  • Switch Type: Silicone (membrane-based)
  • Battery Capacity: 4,000mAh
  • Polling Rate: 125Hz
  • Connectivity: Wireless (Bluetooth 5.2 implied by comparison to GK10 Lite)

The Aurora GK1077 Lite is a 70% form factor keyboard that makes its name known via the little built-in status display and volume/light dial. Lenovo states that this keyboard is the perfect tool for Windows/Mac users looking for a great connection in a smaller footprint than usual. The dial is perfect for those quick adjustments and it is something that many other peripherals will not even have for the same price.

Additionally, the switches for the keyboard are not actual mechanical ones but instead what Lenovo calls "quiet silicone" switches which are silicone membrane ones. This kind of switch choice pairs well with the 125Hz polling rate of the keyboard that is great for daily usage but not really ideal for intense gaming. Also, the battery life of the keyboard is a large 4,000mAh which is rechargeable, so you can expect a long wireless experience when using the keyboard.

Furthermore, the keyboard itself features ABS keycaps (Cherry profile) and will work via Bluetooth 5.2 for wireless connection. The keyboard also comes in 3 different colors. You can choose between Ice Mist Blue, Milk Coffee Orange, and Peach Pink. While the specs may not be much, having that little built in status screen and dial, plus that long battery life, give it a special feeling for all you budget friendly people out there.

Lastly, the Aurora GK1077 Lite is available right now…but only in China. It costs 129 CNY (~$19.28) and that's due to its current exclusive availability. You will probably have to find a third party importer if you live internationally or wait for its wider release. It's all due to Lenovo wanting to provide a great screen-based peripheral for a very low entry price.
