Fans are clamoring for CD Projekt RED to buy Mass Effect and Dragon Age from Electronic Arts. This is significant because BioWare seems to have stopped working on these titles and now the IP is in limbo. Fans want to see someone with a track record for creating deep RPGs to take the reins for these franchises.

Former producer claims EA has stopped development on the franchises
Former BioWare producer, Mark Darrah, claims no one at EA is working on Mass Effect or Dragon Age. He also speculates that the new owners of EA (who bought them for $55 billion) are looking for ways to save money. They may be looking to quickly generate revenue by selling these major gaming brands to outside companies.
It seems that an early prototype for Mass Effect 5 has already been canceled, before any development was underway. The future of other BioWare IPs like Jade Empire is also unclear, as the studio is undergoing a reorganization. Xbox division head Asha Sharma has been working to build trust with the playerbase. That could be in line for a stable franchise transfer.
We've been monitoring Mass Effect closely and previously noticed other reports that no one at EA is working on these titles. We will see what happens if Electronic Arts decides to sell these IP. CDPR has yet to release any statement about acquiring these titles.
The simple fact is BioWare isn't making new games for these franchises. EA is looking into financial options which could include selling these brands. Fans are still urging that these titles be transferred to CD Projekt RED so they can keep going.
