Google announced a new feature at I/O 2026 that lets developers build Android apps using natural language prompts in Gemini AI Studio for the web.
No software installation required
The feature, called vibe coding, requires no software installation and works in any compatible web browser. It includes an Android phone emulator for testing, and apps can be downloaded via ADB.

Vibe-coded apps can be moved to Android Studio for advanced features or published to the Google Play Store.
The feature is available globally as of May 19, 2026, according to Google.
