Samsung has finally pushed the stable One UI 9 update to its 2024 flagship lineup, bringing Android 17 to the Galaxy S24, Z Fold6, and Z Flip6. The update resolves a significant delay for these devices, which had not yet received the software while newer models were already updated. Users on these phones can now access the latest operating system features without waiting for a hardware upgrade.

Stable One UI 9 update with Android 17 reaches Samsung 2024 flagships

The update targets three distinct device categories: the standard Galaxy S24 series, the foldable Z Fold6, and the clamshell Z Flip6. Samsung started the distribution process in South Korea during September 2025. The company plans to expand the rollout to international markets in the coming days and weeks. No specific dates have been set for global availability.

  • Update Size (S24 Series): 3.8GB
  • Update Size (Fold6/Flip6): 3.5GB
  • Beta Update Size (S24 Series): 500MB
  • Beta Update Size (Fold6/Flip6): 408MB
  • Underlying OS: Android 17

The download size varies depending on your current software version. Owners updating from One UI 8.5 will download approximately 3.8GB on the Galaxy S24 series. The Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 require a slightly smaller 3.5GB package. Users already testing the One UI 9 beta receive much smaller incremental patches of about 500MB for the S24 and 408MB for the foldables.

One UI 9 introduces four new AI features to these devices. The update adds My FanCam, Call Brief, and Now Nudge to the software suite. Users can also customize their Now Brief cards for a personalized experience. The company did not provide any reasons for the delay in releasing this update to these specific models.

When we covered the last Galaxy S24, Galaxy Z Fold6, Z Flip6 update, several of the same balance and stability themes came up. The release provides the stable One UI 9 update, which includes Android 17, for the Galaxy S24, Z Fold6, and Z Flip6. The update is now available for installation on supported devices in South Korea.
