A group of gamers has filed a lawsuit against Sony over price increases for the PlayStation 5 and PS5 Pro. The plaintiffs, Amorey Walker and Bryce Foster-Quarles, argue that Sony may recover tariff payments twice if not restrained by the court. They claim Sony could collect higher prices from consumers and also receive tariff refunds from the federal government, including interest. The lawsuit demands assurance that buyers will be reimbursed.
Nintendo also faces similar lawsuits over price increases for the Switch. The court has raised concerns that the plaintiffs' claims may be premature. It is unclear whether Sony has taken action to request tariff refunds from the government.
