Kinetic Games released Phasmophobia update 1.000.047 on September 10 to address a wide range of bugs across PC, , and Xbox platforms. This patch improves the experience for virtual reality players by adding a new belt offset option and adjusting hand positions for better comfort with equipment. It also fixes several gameplay-breaking issues that prevented players from completing objectives or earning achievements on custom difficulty settings.

Kinetic Games releases patch addressing VR hand positions and map glitches

The update targets specific friction points in the ghost hunting loop, particularly around evidence collection and map interaction. Developers added new props and fingerprint interactions in the Prison Entrance map to help players identify ghosts more reliably. They also adjusted the VR player hand position for the Tier 1 D.O.T.S Projector, all tiers of flashlights, and photo and video cameras to create a more natural feel during gameplay.

Kinetic Games addressed numerous technical glitches that disrupted multiplayer sessions and visual clarity. Fixes include resolving issues where video camera screens remained black, equipment was lost on map blockades, and the Nell’s Diner safe would not open with the correct code. The team also corrected spawn locations for items like the Fusebox and Monkey Paw on Prison Restricted, and fixed animation breaks that occurred when players dropped or cycled cameras.

The patch notes list several known issues that remain unresolved in this release. Players using PlayStation 5 and /S may still experience common crashes, and enabling FidelityFX Super Resolution 1.0 can cause readability problems with the Journal. We looked at the last Phasmophobia update earlier while tracking similar balance and stability themes in recent patches.

This update delivers a broad sweep of stability improvements for the co-op horror game. Players can now expect fewer interruptions from visual glitches and spawn errors while investigating restricted maps. The changes aim to keep the focus on ghost hunting rather than troubleshooting broken mechanics.
