Kinetic Games has released update 1.000.036 for the co-op horror game Phasmophobia. The patch introduces a crossover event with Alan Wake 2. This collaboration brings new thematic elements to the game's existing mechanics.

The update implements several quality of life changes to improve gameplay flow. Players can now select a ghost in the Journal during a five second delay after dying in singleplayer mode. The developers removed the inventory swapping animation to allow for instant equipment changes. Salt placement timing also changed to occur at the start of the animation rather than the end.

Visual and interface adjustments accompany the mechanical updates. The Tier 1 Igniter now displays the remaining match count directly in the interface. Prestige cosmetics become free to use once unlocked based on the player's Prestige level. The team also fixed character model issues from the previous Player Character Update and adjusted various equipment hold poses.

A new update is expected soon to address known issues. The developer noted that several bugs related to ghosts, environments, and equipment remain unresolved. This ongoing support cycle highlights the studio's commitment to refining the game's stability and performance for its player base.
