Ubiquiti has entered the consumer mesh market with a new WiFi 7 system designed for larger homes. The UniFi Whole Home WiFi 7 solution brings enterprise-grade networking features to residential users who need reliable coverage across multiple rooms. The release provides high-speed connectivity options that were previously limited to business-class hardware. Users upgrading from older WiFi 6 systems can access faster wireless speeds and improved device handling.

Tri-band mesh system brings enterprise features to residential users

The system relies on the UniFi Express 7 units to create a seamless mesh network. Users can deploy up to three of these units to cover their entire living space. Each device supports all three WiFi frequency bands, including the newer 6 GHz spectrum. Tri-band support enables the network to manage traffic across multiple frequencies.

The units also cover 1,750 square feet each, which helps determine how many devices a home needs. Communication between the mesh points uses Multi-Link Operation over the 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands. Multi-Link Operation allows devices to utilize multiple frequency bands simultaneously.

Powering the system is straightforward since each unit uses a USB Type C connection. The devices require a maximum of 22 watts to operate at full capacity. The units require a maximum of 22 watts of power. The units are powered via USB Type C.

Pricing for the UniFi Whole Home WiFi 7 system starts at 214 USD (around $214) for a single unit. Customers can buy a two-unit package for 408 USD (around $408) or a three-unit combo for 603 USD (around $603). Multi-unit packages are available at reduced prices compared to individual units. Ubiquiti already lists these units on its own web shop for immediate purchase.
