SOFTWARE AND UPDATES

Microsoft has released three new Release Preview builds for Windows 11 versions 24H2, 25H2, and 26H1. The updates are available now for Insiders enrolled in the Release Preview channel through Windows Update.

Three preview builds now available

The builds include fixes for two zero-day vulnerabilities, CVE-2026-1127 and CVE-2026-1139. Copilot in Excel is now live in all three builds, but requires a Microsoft 365 subscription. New features include shared LE Audio support and multi-app camera support. New Group Policy Objects give IT administrators control over AI features.

Windows 11 version 26H1 introduces higher hardware requirements. Devices must have an NPU capable of at least 40 TOPS, 16 GB of RAM, and a minimum of 256 GB of NVMe storage.

The updates are available globally for Release Preview Insiders as of May 14, 2026. Microsoft has not confirmed a general availability date for these builds.
