The Sims 4 received a major update on July 21 that changes how players manage their saves and performance. This matters because the game now offers more control over progress protection and runs smoother on all devices. EA released version 2.36 for consoles and 1.126.58.1030 for PC to address long-standing stability issues.

EA update brings memory management and save protection to all platforms

The update introduces Autosave and Save Reminders as new tools to protect player progress. EA stated that these customizable options fit different playstyles and reduce the risk of lost data. Players can now configure these settings to match their habits without manual intervention.

Memory Boost is now available on all platforms to improve memory management during gameplay. EA claims this feature delivers smoother experiences with reduced lag and better frame rates. The update also adds eight new Starter Sims and culturally inspired Create-a-Sim accessories for character creation.

EA introduced the Music Den Kit DLC with a 200 Moola bonus for purchases before October 22. Marketplace Quick Buy is now available to PlayStation players, expanding access to digital content. The update also removes notification spam from Sugary Cravings and Businesses & Hobbies packs.

Bug fixes address save corruption in rental units and roof rendering issues that affected gameplay. We looked at previous Sims 4 patches while tracking these stability improvements. The game ships with these changes now for all supported platforms.
