Unraid has released version 7.3.0 of its Unraid OS operating system. This update introduces significant changes to boot support and includes critical security patches. The release also updates several core system components to their latest versions.
The update enables internal storage booting while patching copy fail vulnerabilities.
The operating system now supports booting from internal storage devices. Users can install the system on external NVMe drives, SSDs, eMMC modules, or existing storage devices. Internal boot configurations now support a mirrored boot pool using ZFS. This shift moves the platform away from its traditional reliance on exclusive USB flash drive licensing for the boot process.
Unraid OS 7.3.0 updates Docker to version 29.4.3 and ZFS to version 2.4.1. The update also upgrades QEMU to 10.2.2 and libvirt to 12.2.0. These changes address specific vulnerabilities, including CVE-2026-31431 related to copy failures and CVE-2025-43284 known as Dirty Frag. The vendor has also redesigned the onboarding wizard to reduce initial setup time to approximately three minutes.
Licensing for the software remains available in three tiers. The Starter license costs 49 USD. The Unleashed version is priced at 109 USD. A one-time lifetime payment option is available for 249 USD. Additionally, Amazon is currently offering the LincStation S1 in the US with Unraid OS included for 499 USD.
The LincStation S1 availability is currently limited to the US region. Unraid has not confirmed a specific launch window for the OS update in other markets. The vendor continues to position the operating system for users seeking flexible storage and virtualization capabilities.
