Ghost of Yotei 2.008 is now live on October 22 from Sucker Punch Productions. The patch fixes some important gameplay and stability issues. This is a key patch for those who experienced content progression blockers or balance issues with the recent content. There are some targeted fixes for issues that have been painful for new and returning players.

Patch 2.008 resolves Sekigahara softlocks and New Game+ recipe bugs

The team has put in a big effort to fix some key systems around progression that broke down in some earlier versions. You’ll see a change in the costs of resources if you’re using the Dye Vendor Trade Routes. The team has also worked out some technical bugs that were messing with recipe unlocks when you’re in New Game+ modes.

In particular, the team shares that this patch reduces the viper rations needed for Dye Vendor Trade Route purchases. That’s a nice step down that makes the resource cost a bit easier for players who want to customize their gear. There’s also the fix to keep recipes unlocked in New Game+ modes.

The patch irons out some of the softlocks in specific Echoes of Sekigahara missions where you could end up in a broken state. Also, they’re addressing some of the issues with the Most Wanted progress being lost so players can keep their achievements. On top of that, there’s some other bug/crash fixes for better stability.

We saw similar elements around balance and stability issues when we checked out the previous Ghost of Yotei update. Sucker Punch continues to work on polishing the Sekigahara expansion experience. So now you can tackle those missions with no fear of losing progress or softlocks.
