Samsung Galaxy A58 certification confirms 45W charging and March 2027 launch window

Samsung Galaxy A58 passes 3C certification, confirming 45W charging, 5G connectivity, and a March 2027 launch window following the Galaxy S27 series.

The existence of Samsung’s Galaxy A58 is now almost certain as the device has passed a major regulatory mark in China, giving us further information and hardware details before the launch. This certification is significant as it confirms charging features and the model name, ensuring prospective buyers understand Samsung’s next mid-range device capabilities. The 3C database data confirms specific power details and model number, dispelling most of the uncertainty that comes with pre-release smartphone leaks.

Certification data reveals charging speed and model number for upcoming mid-range phone

The Samsung Galaxy A58 (SM-A5860) is confirmed as a 5G smartphone. Samsung has not announced any official launch date yet. However, this certification puts the device in the March 2027 release category.

Specifications

  • Model Number: SM-A5860
  • Connectivity: 5G
  • Charging Speed: 45W wired (15V/3A)
  • Camera (Rear): 50MP primary, 12MP ultrawide, 5MP macro
  • Camera (Front): 12MP

This is when we expect it to be launched after the launch of Galaxy S27 series. Also, it’s confirmed that it won’t have a charger in the box (something that is standard for Samsung).

From the certification and previous model, we can gather some technical specs. It is rated for 45W wired charging at 15V/3A. As per the report, the camera system will include a 50MP primary, a 12MP ultrawide, and a 5MP macro.

The selfie camera is rumored to be a 12MP unit. In terms of software, it is expected to come with Android 17 with One UI 9.5, which is the standard trend for Samsung.

Display information is taken from the Galaxy A57 which comes with a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Also, the Galaxy A58 is expected to feature IP68 rating for dust and water resistance. So, we know about charging speed now, but the actual chipset and camera sensor details are still unknown. There could be some incremental changes, but overall it seems to be following the same specs as its predecessor.

We’ve been following Galaxy A58 and there were some leaks where there were complaints about the same camera specs including a 7-year-old macro camera. Now we have this certification that confirms charging and model, but the processor details and camera sensor origins are not yet confirmed. So, the users can expect a device that focuses more on charging speed and longer software than radical hardware changes. The earliest launch date for global users is likely to be March 2027.

March 2027 is a long wait for a midrange refresh. The 45W charging is nice but expected.
